Simba SC have maintained their 100 percent away winning record after defeating Singida Black Stars (Singida BS) 2-1 in a Tanzanian Premier League match played at Airtel Stadium in Singida.
The victory has taken Simba back to the top of the league table, while also completing a demanding run of three consecutive away matches with a perfect nine points.
Simba made a fast start and took the lead in the 11th minute through Clatous Chama, who finished a pass from Libasse Gueye. For Gueye, it was his fourth assist of the season.
Singida BS responded strongly and levelled the score in the 23rd minute after catching the Simba defence off guard.
The two teams went into half-time level, but Simba returned for the second half with greater determination to increase the pressure on the hosts.
The pressure paid off in the 61st minute when referee Ali Mnyupe awarded Simba a penalty after Ismail Toure was fouled inside the box.
Rushine de Reuck stepped up and confidently converted the spot-kick to restore Simba's lead at 2-1.
However, Simba were forced to finish the match with 10 men after Anthony Mligo was shown a red card for a foul. The dismissal came after the referee reviewed the incident using the FVS.
Despite playing with a man down, Simba managed to protect their lead until the final whistle and leave Singida with all three points.
The victory extends Simba's perfect away record to three wins from three matches this season and caps a challenging run of three consecutive games on the road with an impressive nine points.
