Yanga fans could finally get the chance to see their new striker, Seleman Mwalimu, in action today when the team faces Pamba Jiji in the Tanzanian Premier League.
Yanga will host Pamba Jiji tonight, Friday, at 9:00pm in a match scheduled to be played at KMC Complex.
The striker's signing made headlines during the transfer window after Yanga secured his services from the camp of their arch-rivals Simba. However, there had been uncertainty over why Yanga had yet to use him.
It is understood that there was an issue involving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC), which has now been sent to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) by the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
Mwalimu could therefore make his debut today if coach Manqoba Mngqithi decides to use him against Pamba Jiji.
Unlike Stephane Aziz Ki, whom Mngqithi said is not yet ready to play, Mwalimu has had sufficient time to train with a team. Before joining Yanga, he took part in pre-season preparations with both Simba and Wydad.
