Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi has officially left Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca following several weeks of tension with the club’s Sporting Director, Rogério Matias.
The dispute was reportedly centred mainly on the club’s transfer policy, with Nabi understood to have been unhappy with some of the players signed by the club instead of those he had requested. There were also disagreements over the future of Badr Benoun, whom Nabi wanted to keep in the squad, while the club’s management had a different view.
In a message shared on social media, Nabi said he had no intention of creating conflict, stressing that no player, coach or individual is bigger than the institution. He also thanked Raja supporters, including Ultra Eagles and Green Boys, for the warm welcome and support they gave him during his time at the club.
Nabi’s departure adds another chapter to the ongoing changes within Raja Casablanca’s coaching setup. He becomes the eighth coach to leave the club since Raja finished the 2023/24 season without a trophy under Josef Zinnbauer.
