Football stakeholder Edo Kumwembe has revealed that Simba SC were the first club to open talks with Namibian striker Peter Shalulile before the forward eventually joined their arch-rivals, Yanga SC.
Speaking on Wasafi, Edo said he received the information from a senior official within Simba. According to the information, Simba had initiated negotiations with Shalulile, but the club’s head coach was against the signing before Yanga entered the race and successfully secured the striker.
Shalulile, who now represents Yanga, has already started making an impact in the Tanzanian Premier League, having scored three goals so far this season.
The revelation adds another chapter to the Shalulile transfer saga, with Simba reportedly starting the pursuit before Yanga ultimately completed the move.
