Yanga SC head coach Manqoba Mngqithi says his squad is continuing to grow stronger and has promised a strong performance in Saturday’s second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round tie against Gaborone United.
Yanga have returned to Tanzania after travelling to Botswana, where they played out a 1-1 draw with Gaborone United in the first leg. The hosts took the lead before Selemani Mwalimu equalised for Yanga in stoppage time, finishing a pass from Mudathir Yahya after the move was initiated by Maxi Nzengeli.
Speaking about preparations for the second leg, Mngqithi said he believes his team will continue to show progress and fight for the victory needed to secure qualification to the next round. The coach also reiterated Yanga’s ambition to challenge for the CAF Champions League title this season, while urging supporters to continue backing the team throughout their continental campaign.
