Yanga SC have revealed the cost and implementation timeline for the construction of their new commercial building on Mafia and Nyamwezi Streets in Dar es Salaam, as part of the club’s plans to strengthen its infrastructure and increase revenue streams. The club had already invited qualified and experienced construction companies to bid for the project.
According to project details, construction of the 12-storey building is estimated to cost TSh 5.5 billion, with the project expected to take 12 months, equivalent to one year, to complete. Funding for the project is reportedly being provided by Azania Bank through an existing partnership between the financial institution and Yanga.
The building is expected to become an important part of Yanga’s commercial strategy, giving the club an opportunity to generate additional income through activities beyond direct football operations. The project also represents another major investment in the club’s assets and infrastructure.
The development is in line with Yanga’s broader strategy of building a stronger financial and commercial foundation, as the club continues to invest in projects aimed at increasing its self-sustainability and reducing reliance on revenue generated solely from activities on the pitch.
