Rwanda’s APR FC staged a remarkable comeback after securing a 3-0 victory over Aigles du Congo of DR Congo in the second leg of their CAF Champions League tie.
Djibril Ouattara opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before Christian Ishimwe doubled APR FC’s lead in the 58th minute. Ouattara completed his brace in the 75th minute to seal a 3-0 victory for the Rwandan side.
The result overturned the first-leg defeat, in which Aigles du Congo had secured a narrow 1-0 win. APR FC therefore progressed with a 3-1 aggregate victory over the two legs.
As a result, Aigles du Congo have officially been eliminated from the CAF Champions League, while APR FC continue their journey in the competition.
