England head coach Thomas Tuchel has recalled Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer to his 27-man squad for the start of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign, after both players missed England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Palmer, who was not included in the World Cup squad, has been handed another opportunity under Tuchel after starting the new season with Chelsea. Alexander-Arnold has also returned to the squad as a Real Madrid player and will be part of the team preparing for the upcoming international fixtures.
England will begin their Nations League campaign against world champions Spain on September 26 at Wembley Stadium. The Three Lions will then face Czechia on September 29 and Croatia on October 3, before hosting Czechia again on October 6.
Tuchel’s squad consists of 27 players, with several other names also recalled after making strong starts to the new season with their respective clubs. England are in Nations League Group A3 alongside Spain, Croatia and Czechia.
