Players of the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars, have reported to camp in Dar es Salaam as preparations begin for two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.
Taifa Stars are preparing to face Guinea-Bissau in their opening match of the campaign, scheduled for September 25, 2026, at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
After that match, Stars will travel to face Madagascar in their second AFCON 2027 qualifier, which will be played away on September 29, 2026.
The arrival of the players in camp marks the beginning of preparations for the two matches, which form part of Tanzania’s build-up towards the AFCON 2027 finals.
Tanzania are among the hosts of the tournament alongside Kenya and Uganda. They are participating in the qualifying stage in accordance with the competition regulations and as part of their preparations for the tournament, as they already have a place at the finals.
