Barcelona continued their strong start to the season with a 3-1 victory over Sevilla, with Brazilian forward Raphinha starring after scoring a hat-trick and extending his impressive scoring record in every match he has played this season.
The 29-year-old has been directly involved in at least one goal in every Barcelona match this season. Across eight games, Raphinha has now scored 14 goals, including back-to-back hat-tricks within 72 hours, further establishing himself as a key figure in Hansi Flick’s attack.
His hat-trick against Sevilla came after Raphinha also scored three goals against Racing Santander. Before that, he scored twice against Elche, once against Athletic Club, twice against Rayo Vallecano, once against Valencia and twice against Feyenoord, while also providing two assists against Levante.
Raphinha’s incredible start has been particularly notable given Barcelona’s squad situation. The club lost Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres during the summer and failed to sign Julián Álvarez. As a result, Flick has used Raphinha as a central striker, a decision that appears to have given him even more opportunities to showcase his goalscoring ability.
The victory over Sevilla also extended Barcelona’s perfect record across all competitions this season under Hansi Flick. With Raphinha in sensational form and Lamine Yamal providing two assists, Barcelona have delivered another impressive performance.
