Former Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr. Damas Daniel Ndumbaro, has said the dispute involving Taifa Stars jerseys and Sandaland Fashion Wear is not healthy for Tanzania’s preparations for AFCON 2027.
Ndumbaro made the remarks this evening during the Jana na Leo programme aired by Wasafi FM, while discussing the state of sports in the country and the importance of having a stable environment ahead of the tournament.
The dispute emerged following a debate over Taifa Stars’ new jerseys, with the Ministry maintaining its position on the process.
Sandaland Fashion Wear, on the other hand, has stated that it has a contract with TFF to produce and distribute jerseys for the national teams.
Ndumbaro said the dispute does not align with the kind of environment needed for Tanzania’s preparations for AFCON 2027.
