Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Paul Makonda, has said Tanzania is prepared to use the Miss World 2027 pageant as an opportunity to showcase the country’s culture internationally.
Makonda said the pageant, which is expected to be held in Tanzania in 2027, will provide an opportunity to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage, including the traditions and customs of various ethnic groups.
He said Tanzania has more than 120 ethnic groups, making the preparations for the pageant an opportunity to promote the culture of each community to the world, while also preserving, developing and promoting Tanzania’s cultural heritage.
Makonda made the remarks in Dar es Salaam today, September 25, 2026, while addressing journalists on various issues concerning the information, culture, arts and sports sectors.
According to the Minister, Tanzania aims to use the Miss World 2027 platform to showcase its cultural identity and give people from around the world an opportunity to experience and learn more about the country’s rich heritage.
