The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has clarified the situation regarding club players who were released from the Taifa Stars camp to return to their respective teams, saying Yanga SC was not the only club that requested the release of its players.
TFF said Yanga SC, Simba SC and Singida Black Stars all submitted requests for their players to be released from the Taifa Stars camp, and all the requests were approved.
The clarification was issued by TFF Secretary General Evans Mgeusa following reports claiming that only Yanga SC players had been allowed to leave camp.
Mgeusa explained that Yanga SC submitted its request first, while Simba SC and Singida Black Stars submitted their requests the following day.
“Yanga SC made their request on September 30, 2026, while Simba SC and Singida Black Stars made theirs yesterday, October 1, 2026, and we allowed all of them to return,” said Mgeusa.
According to Mgeusa, Yanga SC players were expected to leave camp on October 3, 2026, while Simba SC and Singida Black Stars were still completing travel arrangements to bring their players back to Tanzania.
“The Yanga SC players are leaving tomorrow (today), that is what I know. However, Simba SC and Singida Black Stars have not yet booked tickets, so we do not know when they will leave camp and return to Tanzania,” he added.
