Simba Marathon 2026 was held with a strong turnout at Coco Beach in Dar es Salaam, with Simba SC fans, supporters and club leaders taking part in the race aimed at strengthening unity and togetherness within the Simba family.
The event featured different race categories, ranging from 5 kilometres to 21.1 kilometres, giving participants from different groups an opportunity to take part in the sporting event, while also promoting health and unity among the club’s stakeholders.
For the 21.1-kilometre race, prizes were awarded to winners in both the men’s and women’s categories. The first-place winners received TSh 1 million, second place TSh 500,000, third TSh 300,000, fourth TSh 200,000, while fifth and sixth place received TSh 100,000 each. Participants finishing from seventh to 10th place received TSh 50,000 each.
For the 10-kilometre race, prizes were also awarded to both male and female winners. The winner received TSh 400,000, second place TSh 200,000, third place TSh 100,000, while fourth and fifth place received TSh 50,000 each.
Simba Marathon 2026 also served as an opportunity to bring together club members, fans, supporters and Simba leaders, allowing the wider club family to interact outside the usual football stadium environment.
Overall, the strong participation in the marathon highlighted how sporting events can help strengthen unity and build stronger relationships within the Simba family, while activities such as these also give the club different ways to connect with its supporters.
