Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Chief Executive Cornel Barnabas has revealed that preparations for the October 10 Kariakoo Derby include new security measures, including the use of a specialised device to detect odours in the teams’ dressing rooms.
Cornel said the device will be used during the Simba vs Yanga match on October 10 as part of measures being implemented to ensure the match environment remains safe and complies with the required procedures.
Speaking to journalists at the TFF Headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Cornel said the device will not be used exclusively for the Kariakoo Derby, but will also be deployed at other Mainland Premier League matches.
The measure introduces new technology into the management of sporting environments, with all eyes now on the October 10 Kariakoo Derby, which has already prompted heightened preparations.
