Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has reached an agreement on a new long-term contract with the club that is expected to keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2030. The news was reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, with the final steps to complete the agreement still pending.
According to Romano, the new contract will run for four years and will include a salary increase for Arteta. His coaching staff are also expected to receive new contracts as part of Arsenal’s plan to continue their long-term project under the Spanish coach.
The decision follows Arteta’s major success last season, when he guided Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2004, ending a 22-year wait. Arsenal also reached the UEFA Champions League final during the same season.
Arteta took charge of Arsenal in December 2019 after leaving Manchester City and has since played an important role in the club’s transformation. If the new contract runs until 2030, Arteta will have led Arsenal for more than a decade, with the club aiming to build on its success in England and across Europe.
