Simba SC have addressed the delay in the start of ticket sales for their Kariakoo Derby against Yanga, urging fans to remain patient as arrangements for ticket availability continue.
Simba and Yanga are scheduled to meet on October 10, 2026, at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, in a match that has already generated significant excitement among football fans across the country.
In a public statement issued on October 7, Simba explained that although the ticket prices for the match had already been announced, sales had yet to begin.
The club explained that the situation was caused by changes to the system governing ticket sales for matches organised under the TFF and TPLB.
According to Simba, the club no longer has direct control over access to the ticketing system as it did in previous seasons.
Simba added that TFF had announced a tender to select a provider to manage the system, and the process of selecting the successful bidder had already been completed. However, the club said that at the time of issuing the statement, its management had yet to receive sufficient information about the provider and the system that would be used.
The delay has left fans uncertain, particularly with only a short time remaining before the match. Simba said the situation had generated pressure from supporters who need tickets to attend the highly anticipated clash.
The club also explained that tickets for some matches being played on October 8 and 9 had already gone on sale, further prompting questions from fans about the reason for the delay in tickets for the Kariakoo Derby.
Meanwhile, Simba said it had been making efforts to establish the latest developments and find a way to ensure that the ticketing system becomes available on time.
According to the club, the aim is to find a quick solution that will allow the match to go ahead while reducing complaints and inconvenience for fans.
Simba has urged its supporters and football fans in general to remain patient while it awaits guidance from TFF and TPLB regarding ticket sales.
The October 10 Kariakoo Derby is expected to be one of the most closely followed matches due to the long-standing rivalry between Simba and Yanga, with fans eagerly awaiting official information on the ticketing schedule, system and points of sale.
