Dolores Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, has admitted that she cried after her son left Portugal’s national team camp, describing how she reacted to the news and tried to encourage the football star during a difficult period.
Speaking to Portuguese media outlet TV 7 Dias, Dolores said she called Ronaldo after he left the camp to check on him. According to her, Ronaldo told her not to worry, assuring her that he would explain the truth about what had happened when they were together. She said she encouraged him to remain calm as he dealt with the situation.
Dolores explained that she tried to motivate Ronaldo and give him the strength to overcome the challenge, but her son ultimately made his own decision. Despite her efforts to comfort him, she admitted that she could not change his mind.
In her statement, Ronaldo’s mother stressed that her son has given a great deal to Portugal and will always remain ready to represent his country. However, she claimed that he has not received the recognition he deserves despite his significant contribution to the national team.
“I cried a little,” Dolores said, explaining that sometimes crying helps release emotions that have built up inside. She added that it is important to remain patient and get through difficult moments.
Her comments have added an emotional dimension to the ongoing discussion surrounding Ronaldo, following the reported tension involving head coach Jorge Jesus and the forward’s decision to leave Portugal’s camp. However, Dolores’ remarks mainly reflect how the family received the news, while Ronaldo himself has said he remains ready to represent the national team after serving any punishment he may receive.
