Young Africans SC Media and Communications Manager Ally Kamwe has urged the club’s fans and stakeholders not to lose hope following their 2-1 defeat to Simba SC in the Kariakoo Derby played on October 10, 2026. He stressed that Yanga’s main objective remains winning the Tanzanian Premier League title in the 2026/27 season.
Speaking to journalists at the club’s headquarters in Jangwani, Dar es Salaam, Kamwe said losing a derby is not unusual in football. He pointed out that Yanga have won league titles in previous seasons despite suffering defeats in some matches.
Kamwe emphasised that instead of dwelling on the derby result, fans and players should focus on the remaining fixtures to ensure the team stays in the title race.
His remarks aim to shift the discussion away from the defeat to Simba and back towards Yanga’s overall season objectives, with the club now needing to regain its competitive momentum and continue collecting points in upcoming matches.
