Simba SC have appointed former Zambia national team coach Honour Janza as the club’s new Technical Director in a move aimed at strengthening its technical structures and football development within the Msimbazi outfit.
The appointment is part of Simba SC management’s strategy to improve the club’s technical structure, from the youth teams to the senior squad, while laying a solid foundation for competing in domestic and international competitions.
Janza is no stranger to Tanzanian football. The Zambian coach previously worked in the country as head coach of Namungo FC before taking on responsibilities with Tanzania’s national team, Taifa Stars, during different periods between 2022 and 2023.
His experience working in Tanzanian football is expected to help him in his new role, particularly in understanding the league’s competitive landscape and the technical demands of a major club such as Simba.
During his coaching career, Janza led Zambia’s national team, the Chipolopolo, at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2015.
He has also served as Technical Director at ZESCO United in Zambia. That experience gives him a background in a role focused on long-term football planning, which differs from the usual responsibilities of a head coach.
Simba Aim to Strengthen Their Football Structure
The Technical Director’s role is expected to cover various aspects of football operations at Simba SC, including coordinating technical plans, developing young players, establishing a playing philosophy and improving collaboration between the technical bench and the club’s management.
The position may also contribute to assessing the squad’s needs and planning recruitment, in collaboration with the officials and coaches responsible for those decisions.
Janza’s arrival opens a new chapter in Simba’s efforts to build a sustainable football structure that can help the club nurture talent, improve team preparations and maintain its competitiveness.
