The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has decided to directly oversee Simba SC's election process after identifying shortcomings in the timetable and procedures previously announced by the club.
The move aims to ensure that the elections are conducted in accordance with the Simba SC Constitution, electoral regulations and the required legal procedures.
TFF Electoral Committee Chairman, Advocate Kiomoni Kiburu Kibamba, said the decision was reached after the committee received complaints regarding the procedures used by the Board of Directors of Simba Sports Club Company in preparing the election process.
Kibamba said the committee received two letters through the Office of the TFF Secretary General. The first concerned the announcement of the commencement of Simba SC's election process, while the second contained complaints about the procedures used by the board.
Following the complaints, the TFF Electoral Committee summoned and heard representatives of both sides before issuing guidance on the steps to be followed in proceeding with the process.
During the discussions, the committee met representatives of the two parties involved, including Crescentius Magori, who represented the investor's side, and Murtaza Mangungu, who represented the members' side.
Kibamba explained that after reviewing the procedures initially announced, the committee identified shortcomings in the election timetable. It therefore decided to revise it before announcing a new schedule to guide the process leading up to the elections.
TFF's intervention is expected to bring the election process in line with the relevant rules and procedures, as Simba SC stakeholders await the revised timetable and further guidance on the next steps.
