Yanga’s preparations for their CAF Champions League (CAFCL) second-leg clash against Botswana’s Gaborone United have intensified, with excitement building as Wananchi fans continue to purchase tickets in large numbers.
The match, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Azam Complex Stadium in Chamazi, is expected to be highly competitive, with Yanga determined to secure an important home victory in front of their supporters and book their place in the first round of the competition.
Yanga’s opponents, Gaborone United, are expected to arrive in Tanzania today, Thursday, from Botswana’s capital, Gaborone, ahead of the second-leg encounter following a 1-1 draw in the first match.
The draw gave Yanga an away goal, scored by striker Selemani Mwalimu ‘Gomez’, with Saturday’s match set to be used to honor him in front of the Wananchi.
Yanga’s Information Manager, Ally Kamwe, has urged fans to continue purchasing VIP B tickets (Tsh 10,000) and Mzunguko tickets (Tsh 5,000) after VIP A tickets sold out.
Meanwhile, due to the limited capacity of Azam Complex Stadium, Yanga’s management has planned to install a large screen (‘Big Screen’) outside the Chamazi venue so that every fan can watch and enjoy the match.
