Yanga SC Communications and Media Manager Ally Kamwe has confirmed that Namibian forward Peter Shalulile suffered an injury during the CAF Champions League match against Gaborone United played over the weekend.
Shalulile scored one of Yanga’s goals in their 2-1 victory, which was enough to send the Wananchi into the first round of the competition with a 3-2 aggregate win.
In that match, Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi substituted Shalulile at the start of the second half, with Albert Kangwanda coming on in his place.
Kamwe said the forward has not yet fully recovered and could potentially miss today’s NBC Premier League match against Geita Gold, scheduled for 7pm at KMC Complex.
However, other forwards such as Seleman Mwalimu and Cheick Ibrahim Toure are fully fit and ready to continue leading Yanga’s attack, which has scored 15 goals in five league matches so far.
