Yanga secured a 1-0 victory over St George in an international friendly played at Uhuru Stadium.
It was a highly tactical match that gave both coaches an opportunity to test different systems and players, particularly those who have not featured regularly in previous matches.
Yanga dominated the game for much of the contest, while Micho’s young side defended with great discipline.
The first 45 minutes ended goalless. However, Yanga managed to score the only goal of the match in the second half, with Albert Kangwanda finishing off a fine move created by Maxi Nzengeli, who wore the captain’s armband on the day.
In the match, Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi continued with his approach of experimenting, deploying Yao Kouassi in midfield.
It was a friendly encounter between two clubs that are both celebrating their 91st anniversaries this year.
