Yanga president Engineer Hersi Said has continued to make the club’s ambition clear when it comes to signing high-quality players, stressing that players who perform strongly for rival teams are putting themselves closer to a move to Yanga.
Hersi said he enjoys watching talented players perform at a high level, while emphasising that Yanga is a club where a top player can fulfil his footballing ambitions.
Speaking to Bongo FM, Hersi said a key criterion for a player to be signed by Yanga is the high level of performance he demonstrates at his current club.
“The better a player performs for a rival team, the closer he puts himself to coming to play for Yanga. Let me just say that I really enjoy seeing all good players in my team.”
Hersi added that he sees no reason why a talented player from Tanzania would turn down the opportunity to join Yanga, stressing that the club has appeal for both local and foreign players.
“I don’t see any player here in Tanzania who could turn down the chance to play for Yanga, whether he is a local or foreign player. That is why I have the numbers of almost all the players.”
Looking ahead to the next transfer window, Engineer Hersi also hinted that Yanga could be very active during that period.
Emphasising his point, Hersi said:
“Let me tell you, there will be a lot happening in the mid-season transfer window... Let’s pray for good health.”
