Yanga defender Mohamed Hussein ‘Zimbwe Jr’ says his ambition is to win more trophies with the Tanzania Mainland champions.
In his first season with Yanga, Zimbwe Jr won two trophies — the league title and the Community Shield — and this season he has also lifted the Community Shield for the second consecutive season after Yanga defeated their traditional rivals Simba.
Zimbwe Jr said his ambition this season is to see the team continue winning trophies, as he believes in the quality of the squad.
“After winning the league title last season, I now want to see us win all the domestic trophies this season. We have a good team and the competition is strong, so we believe we have what it takes to fight for every trophy,” said Tshabalala.
“Our other ambition is to perform well internationally, with the biggest goal being to win the CAF Champions League. That is something we want, and we will fight to achieve it,” said Zimbwe Jr.
He added that Yanga fans should continue supporting their team throughout the season, stressing that challenges and pressure will always be present but should not cause them to lose confidence.
“We ask our fans to continue supporting the team and not be shaken by any pressure. We players know what we want, and we will continue fighting to make them happy.”
