Yanga attacking midfielder Albert Kangwanda led Zambia to a 2-0 victory over Togo yesterday in an AFCON 2027 qualifying match.
Kangwanda scored the opening goal as early as the second minute to help secure an important victory for Zambia. The Yanga star has started both of Zambia’s matches in the campaign.
Several Yanga stars were also in action for their respective national teams yesterday.
Ibrahim Bacca, Mohamed Hussein and Seleman Mwalimu featured for Taifa Stars in their 1-1 draw against Madagascar, while Hussein Zakouane watched on as Comoros secured a 1-0 victory over Namibia, who were led by Peter Shalulile.
Djigui Diarra “Mdaka Mishale” also helped Mali secure a 1-0 away victory over Liberia.
Tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, Duke Abuya is also set to take the field when Guinea face their opponents.
After completing their international duties, some of the players are expected to return directly to their clubs, while others will be involved in friendly matches.
Mali are expected to face Tunisia on October 3, while Namibia are scheduled to take on Russia on the same day.
Comoros will face Senegal on October 4.
