Yanga Princess head coach Edna Lema has dismissed rumours circulating on social media claiming that she has resigned from her position following yesterday’s 3-0 defeat to Simba Queens in the Women’s Community Shield semi-final.
The defeat frustrated Yanga fans, who have watched their team struggle against Simba Queens for some time, leading to widespread speculation on social media.
Edna has insisted that she remains the coach of Yanga Princess and has not resigned, contrary to the reports.
"I am still the coach of Yanga Princess and I am continuing with my duties. Those reports are simply rumours and have no truth to them," said Edna, popularly known as 'Mourinho'.
After being knocked out of the Women’s Community Shield, Yanga Princess will return to training to complete preparations ahead of the start of the 2026/27 Women’s Premier League season.
