Kenya’s national team, Harambee Stars, will be in action today as they take on Rwanda in an international friendly.
Yanga utility midfielder Duke Abuya is expected to lead Harambee Stars in the match, which will conclude Kenya’s FIFA calendar schedule. The Yanga star will then return to Tanzania to link up with his club.
The good news for Yanga is that Abuya is the only player still on international duty, with the club’s other stars having already completed their national-team assignments. Starting today, they will link up with the Wananchi squad as preparations continue for Saturday’s Mainland Premier League clash against Simba.
The players who were part of the Taifa Stars squad—Mohamed Hussein, Ibrahim Bacca, Mudathir Yahya and Seleman Mwalimu—have already returned to Tanzania, while Djigui Diarra, Peter Shalulile, Albert Kangwanda and Hussein Zakouani have also completed their international duties.
Yanga are expected to continue their preparations today at KMC Complex ahead of the highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby, which has generated considerable excitement among football fans across the country.
