The Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports has confirmed that Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam is ready to host the Kariakoo Derby between hosts Simba SC and their rivals Yanga SC on October 10, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry earlier today, the stadium will not be used by either team for training ahead of the match. The Ministry stressed that the regulations and procedures set by the League Board regarding the use of competition venues, particularly those governing team training sessions, must be fully observed.
“Therefore, it should be understood that ahead of the match, Uhuru Stadium will not be used for training by either of the two teams, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the league competition regulations.”
“We urge all stakeholders, Simba and Yanga fans, as well as the general public, to maintain calm, peace and adhere to the procedures established ahead of this highly anticipated match by Tanzanians,” the Ministry’s statement said.
