The Tanzania national football team (Taifa Stars) will leave the country for Egypt to set up a special camp to prepare to face Uganda (Cranes), in the first match to seek a ticket to participate in the African Championship (AFCON).
Uganda will invite Taifa Stars on March 24, this year in the city of Ismailia, Egypt and the teams will meet again on March 28, this year at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
The TFF Information Officer, Clifford Ndimbo, said yesterday that the Stars team will travel in two phases and that is due to Simba and Yanga teams facing CAF competition matches.
"The Stars squad expects to leave in two groups to Egypt, the first group will leave on March 16 and the second on March 20, to set up camp in Egypt, we have done so because there are teams facing CAF competitions, because of Simba and Yanga"
"We are watching this game with great attention, the intention is to see that we succeed in entering the AFCON 2023 competition, for the third time, that is why we are making sure everything stays the same," said Ndimbo.
He added that the technical bench is organized to ensure that they reach the goals of qualifying for the AFCON finals once again.
The last time Taifa Stars participated in the AFCON finals in 2019, which were held in Egypt, it was led by a Nigerian, Emmanue Amunike.
