Bayern Munich Manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed how a three to five minute meeting with Chelsea bosses led to him losing his job at the club
Speaking to reporters yesterday ahead of his first match as new Bayern Munich coach against rivals and current Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund, Tuchel revealed that he was sacked by the Blues during a short meeting
"It was a shock, I felt it, strange, when I drove to the training centre," said the coach who led Chelsea to the Champions League title as well as the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his 20-month tenure.
"The meeting was unusual and it turned out to be a very short meeting. It was 8am, or something, and it lasted three to five minutes. I also didn't get a chance to talk more"
"The decision had been made and really, it was a shock because I had the feeling that I was in the right place at the right time"
"I believed I could do great things and I wanted to stay longer"
Tuchel said he had built a good relationship with the staff at Chelsea's Cobham training ground and his sacking is still hurting them
