Premir League to end gambling sponsorships

Clubs participating in the English Premier League have agreed to remove gaming logos from the front of the players' shirts from the 2026/7 season in the games of the world famous league

There are eight teams in the league sponsored by gaming companies. The statement issued by the league board said that the EPL clubs have jointly adopted a resolution to disappear from the front of the jerseys, logos of the games during the league matches.

The action makes the league the first to take such action to reduce advertisements promoting the games.

The decisions of the league board have involved various stakeholders in taking that step, including the clubs themselves and the government.

The board is currently also involving stakeholders to come up with a new policy that will provide guidance for sponsorships based on gaming.

The board has said that while adults feel comfortable playing gaming, the advertisements of those games through clubs have had an impact on young children considering that the players have been role models for the children's fans.
