TP Mazembe became the first team to be kicked out of the Champions League group A after accepting a 1-0 defeat from MC Alger yesterday
Mazembe needed to win the game played in Algeria yesterday but a penalty kick goal in the first half gave MC Alger three points at home and gave Mazembe the ticket to go home
The result also means Yanga should not lose the game against Al Hilal tomorrow to keep alive the hope of qualifying for the quarter finals
Al Hilal, who leads group A with 10 points, has already qualified while MC Alger continues to hold second place with 8 points
Yanga is third with 4 points while TP Mazembe are trailing with 2 points
If Yanga loses the game against Al Hilal tomorrow, it will join TP Mazembe to be eliminated from the tournament because even if it wins the last match against MC Alger, it will reach 7 points where MC Alger already has 8 points
Yanga need to win the remaining two matches to qualify for the quarter-finals directly and if they draw against Al Hilal, they will need to win 3-0 against MC Alger to qualify
