The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the CHAN African Nations Championship until August this year
The statement of the federation has indicated that they have postponed the championship despite the organizers who are Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda doing well in the improvements of stadiums, hotels, hospitals and infrastructure and other facilities for organizing the championship
However, CAF Technical and Infrastructure experts, some of whom are in the East African countries, have advised the federation that more time is needed to ensure that the infrastructure and equipment are at the most necessary levels so that the championship can be a success.
The President of CAF, Dr. Patrice Motsepe has thanked Presidents William Ruto of Kenya, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda for their leadership, dedication and the good progress achieved especially in the construction of infrastructure
Despite the championship being moved forward, the activity of planning the schedule of the championship will be held tomorrow from 8:00 pm in Nairobi, Kenya but the official start date of the championship will be announced later
