Kagera Sugar coach, Melis Medo has shown great confidence in the new striker, George Mpole, saying he has the ability to do great things and be a help in their efforts to escape from the danger of relegation to the Premier League
Medo has said that Mpole will be an important weapon in the team, especially in the second round of the Premier League where Kagera Sugar faces a big challenge to fight to stay in the league
Mpole who has joined Kagera Sugar from Pamba Jiji in the small window closed on January 15 is a player with a good record having been the top scorer of the Premier League 2021/22 after scoring 17 goals
Medo said he believes Mpole's experience will add strength to his team which ranks 15th in the league standings with 11 points
"George Mpole is a striker who has a lot of experience and has been the best scorer in the Premier League. He has the ability to cause serious damage in important areas on the field. This is an important weapon for our team as we need a player who can bring creativity forward and finish scoring opportunities"
"We need players like him who are fearless, they fight until the last minute and they know how to use opportunities. This is the quality we need to break free from the position we are in now," said Medo
Besides Mpole, Kagera Sugar has also introduced another star in the closed registration window which is goalkeeper Ahmed Feruzi who joined on loan from Simba, and Medo believes that the addition of the goalkeeper will strengthen the team's defense
