The Dodoma City team has had a bus accident coming from Ruangwa in Lindi region to Dar es Salaam, after just yesterday they finished their Premier League game against their hosts Namungo FC, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Secretary General of Dodoma City, Fortunatus Johnson has said that the accident happened between Nangurukuru and Somanga, while making it clear that there are many injured but there is no report of death so far.
"The bus overturned twice in the river and the players who were injured in the accident are many, we are thankful that we have received very quick help from the village and the Lindi Regional Government who until now as we speak are continuing to rescue them," he said.
Fortunatus has said that at the moment it is too early to talk about what is going on, although after a while they will provide full information in collaboration with regional doctors, so fans, lovers and stakeholders of football in the country should continue to pray for all the injured.
Dodoma City was on its way to Dar es Salaam and then to Mbeya for the upcoming Premier League game against Tanzania Prisons, scheduled to be played on February 14 at Sokoine Stadium
