Simba, Berkane seek CAF CC final

This Sunday, 20 April 2025, football fans across Africa will witness two semi-final matches of the CAF Confederation Cup. Four teams from different African regions will compete for a place in the final of the continent's second-largest competition.

Simba SC of Tanzania will host Stellenbosch FC of South Africa at the New Amaan Complex, Zanzibar

Simba finished the group stage as the leaders of Group A with 13 points, one ahead of CS Constantine of Algeria. Their 2-0 win over Constantine in the final group match gave them a huge boost heading into the quarter-finals where they managed to knock out Al Masry on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw.

On the other hand, Stellenbosch FC finished second in Group B behind RS Berkane of Morocco. In their first season in the CAF Champions League, Stellenbosch have shown great promise, including a 1-0 win over defending champions Zamalek to knock them out of the competition at the quarter-final stage.

This match is expected to be a close one, with Simba using their African Cup experience and home-field advantage, while Stellenbosch are looking to build on their success in their first season in the CAF competition.

In the other semi-final, RS Berkane of Morocco will host CS Constantine of Algeria. RS Berkane finished the group stage with a 100% win record in Group B, scoring 7 goals and conceding just 2.
