Simba head coach Fadlu Davids has said that his team is ready for the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane, which will be played on Saturday, May 17, at the Berkane Municipal Stadium.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match, Fadlu said that despite his squad being filled with many young players who lack extensive experience in this tournament, they are well-prepared to face Berkane with the goal of securing a good result.
"I know RS Berkane — we played against them a few seasons ago when I was with Orlando Pirates. They are a team with a lot of experience in this competition," Fadlu said.
"Even though my team has many young players, we are determined to perform well in this match."
The South African coach added that they are aware they will be playing the first leg of the final tomorrow, and next week the return leg will be played, where Simba will have the advantage of playing at home.
Coach Fadlu also expressed his satisfaction with the pitch at the Berkane Municipal Stadium and said they are ready to represent Simba proudly at the venue.
Speaking on behalf of his teammates, defender Che Malone Fondoh said that at this stage of the competition, they fear no team and their goal is to win the match.
“We’ve reached the final, and as players, we understand our responsibility — we need to win this game,” he said.
