Yanga SC appears to be wasting no time in preparing for the upcoming 2025/2026 season. Following the sale of their star attacking midfielder, Stephane Aziz KI β who recently joined Wydad Casablanca of Morocco β the Tanzanian champions have taken a major step by focusing on strengthening their attacking line, with Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah emerging as a top target.
According to reliable sources, secret talks between Yanga officials and Sowah have already taken place and preliminary agreements have been reached. There's a strong possibility that Sowah will be part of Yanga's squad next season, with a proposed two-year contract already on the table.
Sowah, currently playing for Singida Black Stars, has been in red-hot form since joining the team during the January mid-season transfer window. He has scored 11 goals in 11 matches β impressive stats that underline his natural goal-scoring instinct.
Yanga is also preparing to offload rising star striker Clement Mzize, who has attracted attention from clubs in both Africa and Europe. In addition, they are expected to part ways with Kennedy Musonda, whose contract expires at the end of the season β a move that will free up a foreign player slot to officially register Sowah.
Despite still being under contract with Singida Black Stars, Sowah has reportedly prioritized a move to Yanga, having previously stated that the club feels like "home" to him.
Yanga aims to build an attacking duo led by Jonathan Sowah and Prince Dube, hoping the pair will spearhead the teamβs campaign for CAF Champions League glory next season.
