Three important days for Simba

Today, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Simba SC will take to the field at the KMC Complex to face Singida Black Stars in an NBC Premier League rescheduled match — a fixture that could determine Simba’s direction in the race for the Mainland Premier League title this season.

This match is crucial for Simba to win in order to remain in contention for the league title ahead of their clash against Yanga SC, scheduled for June 15, 2025.

After today’s encounter, Simba and Singida Black Stars will meet again in just three days, on May 31, 2025, in the semifinal of the CRDB FA Cup at the Tanzanite Kwaraa Stadium in Babati.

These three days could define Simba’s season. A win against Singida today could spark hope for Simba ahead of the challenging FA Cup semifinal.

You could say these two matches against Singida BS carry Simba’s remaining hopes of winning major silverware this season, after losing the CAF Confederation Cup to RS Berkane last Sunday.

Their arch-rivals Yanga have already secured a spot in the CRDB FA Cup final after defeating JKT Tanzania 2-0, and they are also leading the Mainland Premier League table. This puts extra pressure on Simba to avoid dropping points today.

For Singida Black Stars, the pressure is less intense as they have already secured a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. However, they will use these matches as an opportunity to showcase their quality and strengthen their squad ahead of the continental campaign.

All eyes will be on the KMC Complex today and later in Babati — in matches that are crucial for Simba to keep their hopes of winning trophies this season alive.
