Dodoma Jiji FC executives are in talks to sign former Tabora United head coach, Congolese tactician Anicet Kiazayidi, impressed by his coaching ability and believing he could build a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
Reliable sources reveal that current head coach Mecky Maxime, who joined Dodoma Jiji on June 19, 2024, from Ihefu (now Singida Black Stars), may part ways with the club despite having one year remaining on his contract.
Insiders from the club suggest that Maxime’s recent strained relationship with the top management could lead to his departure.
“He has had a difficult working relationship with senior officials and is already sensing an exit due to the current situation. Nothing is final yet, as he still has a year left on his contract,” a source disclosed.
Speaking on the matter, Dodoma Jiji’s Secretary-General Fortunatus Johnson stated that as far as the club is concerned, Maxime still has a year left on his deal, and no official steps have been taken toward his departure.
“Since we concluded the Premier League season on June 25, 2025, we are planning a meeting on July 10 to discuss team improvements. That’s all I can comment on for now,” said Fortunatus.
Despite this statement, Dodoma Jiji has already held talks with Anicet Kiazayidi regarding taking over coaching duties next season, following his impressive run with Tabora United.
Anicet joined Tabora United on November 2, 2024, replacing Kenyan coach Francis Kimanzi, who left on October 21, 2024. The Congolese coach later parted ways with Tabora on March 28, 2025, after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
