Simba SC have officially confirmed the signing of striker Suleiman Mwalimu Gomez from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic.
Mwalimu, who previously played for Singida BS/Fountain Gate before moving to Wydad, returns to Tanzania on a season-long loan. Simba also hold an option to make the deal permanent once the loan expires.
The transfer had been finalized last week and only awaited official confirmation. The forward arrived in Dar es Salaam two days ago and is now set to link up with his new teammates.
Mwalimu featured for Wydad at the FIFA Club World Cup in June, appearing in all three matches, including one against Manchester City.
Heading into the new season, Simba’s attacking line will now be spearheaded by Jonathan Sowah, Mwalimu, and Steven Mukwala, following the sale of Lionel Ateba.
