Mohamed Salah Linked with Saudi Move as Liverpool Future Remains Unclear

Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah continues to dominate transfer headlines following reports that several Saudi Arabian clubs are aggressively pursuing him, with the aim of signing the forward in the summer of 2026.

Despite returning to the Anfield squad after AFCON duties and playing a key role in a 3–0 victory over Marseille, Salah’s long-term future at Liverpool remains uncertain. Sources close to the player suggest that the Saudi Pro League views this as the ideal moment to tempt the star into a new challenge outside Europe.

Wealthy clubs such as Al-Hilal and Al-Qadisiyah are said to be leading the race for Salah’s signature. The teams are reportedly ready to put forward lucrative financial offers, including massive wages that could see Salah become one of the highest-paid footballers in the world.

However, Liverpool are not prepared to let go of their star forward easily. Salah is under contract until June 2027, and the club’s hierarchy has made it clear they will not accept any offer below £150 million. This reflects how highly the Reds value him—not only for his performances on the pitch, but also commercially and as a leader within the squad.

As for Salah himself, he has yet to publicly declare his stance on his future. Nonetheless, with the Saudi Pro League continuing to attract some of the world’s biggest football stars, a move to the Middle East appears increasingly plausible, especially considering his age and the stage of his career.

For now, Liverpool fans will continue to enjoy Salah’s contributions on the field, but the transfer curtain is slowly rising. The big question that remains is whether the summer of 2026 will mark the end of Mohamed Salah’s journey at Anfield, or if Liverpool will succeed in keeping their goal-scoring king.
