NBC Premier League Giants Return from CAF Duty with Victories in Rescheduled Fixtures

Yanga S.C., Simba S.C., Azam F.C. and Singida Black Stars F.C. displayed their strength after returning from CAF competitions by winning their rescheduled matches in the NBC Premier League.

Yesterday, a total of four matches were played at different venues across the country, with each of the giants collecting three crucial points.

Earlier in the afternoon, Singida Black Stars were away at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma facing Mtibwa Sugar F.C. Singida delivered an impressive performance to secure a 3-1 victory, a result that boosted their morale in the race for top positions.

At 3:00 PM, the same Jamhuri Stadium hosted the clash between Tanzania Prisons F.C. and Simba. The Msimbazi Reds dominated the match and emerged with a 2-0 win. Simba’s goals were scored by Suleiman Mwalimu, while the second was converted by Rushine De Reuck from the penalty spot.

The victory saw Simba reach 22 points and climb to fourth place in the league standings, strengthening their position in the race for the top spots.

At KMC Complex, KMC F.C. hosted Azam F.C. However, the home side continued their inconsistent run after suffering a 2-0 defeat. Both goals for Azam were scored by striker Idd Nado, who was the standout performer of the match.

Meanwhile, defending champions Yanga were away in Ruangwa, Lindi Region, taking on Namungo F.C. The Citizens secured a narrow 1-0 victory courtesy of a penalty scored by striker Laurindo Aurélio ‘Depu’. The win pushed Yanga to 25 points and up to second place in the league standings.
