Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Wallace Karia has warned that any referee who ruins tomorrow’s Kariakoo Derby between Yanga and Simba will face a lifetime ban from football.
Speaking earlier today during the 20th TFF General Assembly in Kahama, Shinyanga Region, Karia said that in addition to a lifetime suspension, the referee would also face legal action.
“Let me say this here at the General Assembly, and let the referees hear me clearly — anyone who spoils tomorrow’s match will not be spared. We have received many complaints, and they are damaging the image of the game,” Karia stated.
Yesterday, TFF announced Nassor Mwinchui from Tanga as the center referee for the highly anticipated match between Yanga and Simba, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, March 1, at the New Amaan Complex.
Kassim Mpanga from Dar es Salaam will serve as Assistant Referee I, while Hamdan Said from Mtwara will be Assistant Referee II.
Ramadhan Kayoko has been appointed as the fourth official, with Israel Mjui serving as the referees’ assessor.
