The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Simba, Crescentius Magori, has stated that the Msimbazi Reds’ main objective this season is to compete for the Premier League title.
Magori urged the club’s fans and members to support the leadership in their mission to restore the team’s pride in domestic football.
Speaking after the match against Yanga at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar, which ended in a goalless draw, Magori praised Simba players for their strong performance, saying he believes they deserved to win the game.
"We are strong and we are fighting for the championship. All Simba supporters must stop conflicts and divisions — this team will become even better than it is now."
"Our matches are very tough, but they are honest and genuine games without theatrics. We will continue playing like that," said Magori.
The draw against Yanga keeps Simba in third place in the league standings with 24 points.
Simba have already returned to Dar es Salaam to prepare for their upcoming fixtures. On March 8, they will face B19 in the Round of 32 of the CRDB Cup at Isamuhyo Stadium.
