Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal Reach FA Cup Quarter-Finals

The FA Cup continued on Saturday night, March 7, 2026 with Fifth Round matches, where several English football giants secured victories to advance to the quarter-finals.

Teams that progressed include Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, although some smaller clubs put up strong resistance against the top sides.

Manchester City Knock Out Newcastle

In one of the biggest matches of the night, Manchester City secured a 3–1 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle scored first, but City responded strongly in the second half as striker Omar Marmoush scored twice to secure the win and book a place in the quarter-finals.

The victory keeps alive City’s hopes of winning the FA Cup this season.

Chelsea Win After Extra Time

One of the most dramatic matches of the round was between Wrexham and Chelsea, where Chelsea won 4–2 after extra time.

Wrexham gave their visitors a tough challenge and even led twice during the 90 minutes. However, Chelsea equalized and forced the game into extra time.

During the additional period, Alejandro Garnacho scored a crucial goal before João Pedro added the final goal to seal the exciting victory.

Arsenal Edge Past Mansfield

Arsenal had to fight until the end before defeating Mansfield Town 2–1.

Arsenal took the lead through Noni Madueke, but Mansfield equalized early in the second half.

However, midfielder Eberechi Eze scored the decisive goal that sent Arsenal into the quarter-finals.

The results mean the 2025/26 FA Cup title race continues to gather momentum, with several major clubs still remaining in the competition.

The next stage will be the quarter-finals, where the teams will battle for a place in the final at Wembley Stadium.
