Double Header in NBC Premier League as Simba and Azam Face Tough Away Fixtures

The NBC Premier League continues today with two matches scheduled to take place in Mwanza and Kigoma.

In Mwanza, Simba SC will be away to face Pamba Jiji in a match set to kick off at 4:00 PM.

It is expected to be a tough contest between two sides that have previously produced very physical and competitive encounters.

Pamba Jiji have made CCM Kirumba Stadium a difficult venue for opponents this season, with the “Cotton Farmers” currently sitting 6th in the league standings.

However, they will face a much-improved Simba side that is showing strong determination to reclaim the league title after missing out for the past four seasons.

Simba arrived in Mwanza the night before last, and yesterday coach Steve Barker’s squad held their final training session at CCM Kirumba Stadium.

After their rivals Yanga dropped points in their last two matches, this presents a chance for Simba to reduce the points gap between the two teams.

Mathematically, if Simba win all their outstanding matches, the gap between them and Yanga would be reduced to just one point, setting up a more intense title race this season.

In another match, Mashujaa FC will host Azam FC in Kigoma.

This is also expected to be a tough and closely contested game. Since the arrival of coach Jamhuri Kiwhelo ‘Julio’ at Mashujaa FC, the team has shown significant improvement.

Azam FC will need to put in extra effort if they are to walk away with all three points against Mashujaa.
