TPLB Hands Out Fines and Suspensions Over League Misconduct

The League Management Committee of the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), in its meeting held on March 17, 2026, reviewed various league incidents and made the following decisions:

1. Singida BS FC 0-3 Young Africans SC (Match No. 72)

  • Carlos Leonard Mayangura (Yanga fan): Banned for 12 months for leading fans in vandalizing dressing room windows and causing damage.

  • Young Africans SC: Fined TSh 5,000,000 and ordered to cover the cost of repairing the damaged windows and affected areas caused by their supporters.

2. Singida BS FC 1-2 Simba SC (Match No. 111)

  • Katanga Hussein (Referee): Suspended for three (3) matches for failing to properly interpret the rules after Simba goalkeeper Djibril Kassali committed a foul against Joseph Guede (Singida BS) inside the penalty area.

  • Singida BS FC: Fined TSh 5,000,000 after their manager, Othmen Najjar, failed to wear official team attire like other club officials.

3. Azam FC 0-0 Young Africans SC (Match No. 104)

  • Ally Mnyupe (Referee): Suspended for three (3) matches for failing to award a penalty after Azam player Fuentes Mendoza fouled Prince Dube (Yanga) inside the penalty area.

  • Azam FC: Fined TSh 5,000,000 for refusing to use the designated dressing room and instead using the corridor.

  • Young Africans SC: Fined TSh 5,000,000 after their fans threw water bottles at match officials as they exited the pitch.
